Donde nacen los dioses

A través de esta serie discursiva entre pirámides, lunas y estrellas, se desarrolla un romance con la mitología teotihuacana, en el que se hace un viaje al nacimiento del sol y la luna, inspirado en la zona arqueológica de Teotihuacán “lugar donde los hombres se convierten en dioses”.

Es aquí en el origen del significado de uno de los asentamientos más grandes de Mesoamérica, en el que la propuesta del artista se sumerge en las formas piramidales y la representación del sol y la luna para crear una conversación visual geométrica que va relatando diferentes momentos importantes, haciendo una interpretación de la fantasía cósmica y el poder del ser humano para alcanzar la sabiduría en lo más alto del firmamento a través de pirámides monumentales que conversan entre sí.

Las esferas interpretadas por artista como la perfección exacta de la materia, que son lunas y estrellas, que son las contenedoras del todo y de la nada, que es la representación clara de la maternidad.

Las pirámides que representan la virilidad del hombre, que entre más altas más pronto se llega a la sabiduría, entre más robustas son más estables y resistentes, son directas, frías y esbeltas.

En esta obra se puede apreciar el comportamiento humano a través de las formas geométricas y la arquitectura, plasmando con hoja de oro la riqueza de la cultura en entornos monocromáticos a base de carboncillo y grafito, generando una sensación de fotos antiguas a lo largo de la historia y culminando con la única pieza con una franja roja que representa la sangre derramada en el declive de la sociedad, esa brecha que se genera por la ambición y los conflictos y que puede llevar a la propia extinción de la humanidad.

Where the Gods are Born

Through this discursive series among pyramids, moons, and stars, a romance with Teotihuacan mythology unfolds, in which a journey is taken to the birth of the sun and the moon, inspired by the archaeological site of Teotihuacán – “the place where men become gods.”

Here, at the origin of the meaning of one of the largest settlements in Mesoamerica, the artist’s proposal delves into the pyramidal forms and the representation of the sun and the moon to create a geometric visual conversation that narrates different significant moments, interpreting the cosmic fantasy and the power of the human being to reach wisdom at the highest point in the firmament through monumental pyramids that converse with each other.

The spheres, interpreted by the artist as the exact perfection of matter, which are moons and stars, are the containers of everything and nothing, and represent a clear depiction of maternity.

The pyramids represent the virility of man, where the taller they are, the sooner wisdom is attained; the more robust they are, the more stable and resistant they become; they are direct, cold, and slender.

In this work, one can appreciate human behavior through geometric forms and architecture, capturing the richness of culture in monochromatic environments using gold leaf, charcoal, and graphite, generating a sensation of old photographs throughout history, and culminating with the only piece featuring a red stripe that represents the blood spilled in the decline of society, a gap generated by ambition and conflicts that could lead to the self-extinction of humanity.
