#Hashtag Gallery is proud to announce O.T.Rx., the first solo show in 5 years from HAYDEN MENZIES!
Venture into the graphic, raw, and completely unfiltered mind of a traveling multi-talented genius, through large-scale mixed media paintings and the intricacies of a vast collection of drawings & paper works.
Menzies explains the collection is a “result of extensive travel over the past few years. A fast paced and unfamiliar lifestyle as of late has encouraged me to find motivation and creative inspiration in unconventional settings and circumstances, as well as providing many new influences.”
“It has allowed me to explore new ways to enjoy making art, but has also required me to revisit my process of painting and drawing due to limited time, resources, space etc. This challenging new approach, as well as the work itself, have been important outlets for compulsive habits and behaviors brought on by constant touring [as drummer for the amazing METZ] as well as functioning as coping mechanisms for such recurring issues as anxiety and depression.”
O.T.Rx. opens October 8th, and runs through to the 25th, as part of #Hashtag Gallery’s grand-reopening celebration.
