“Paintings in Dialogue: Two-Approaches for Non-Figurative Imagery”

** Nov 8-25: Abstract Paintings by Claudia Yarur & Jimmy Chiale

Drop in before November 25th to check out this colourful new show from Claudia Yarur and Jimmy Chiale. These pieces focus on those moments of time that make up our daily lives. Claudia uses repetition and colour to show movement through time and bring the viewer closer to that certain state of mind where things are shifting or changing. “In every one of these works there is an intention of bringing to surface the idea of change, where the spectator can feel the sensation of change in him or herself as reflection to these images.” Jimmy’s artwork seeks to capture that “Joie De Vie” that he experiences from creating the work, and captures moments in time that reflect his thirst for adrenaline and adventures of a bohemian nature.

** Dec 6-22: Artworks by Andrew Patterson

On December 6th #Hashtag Gallery welcomes Sheridan College alumni Andrew Patterson in his much anticipated solo show “FRACTURE”. The show features brand new works of art from this Animator/Illustrator who participated in #Hashtag Gallery’s first ever show, this past April. “The collection of works on display here are representative of a number of emotions and experiences united by a common theme: Change.”
Opening reception December 6th, 7pm-11:30pm

We continue to open up our space to artists for a creativity session. Bring any type of work you’re working on, or nothing at all and help contribute to other works. Collaboration will be key; the aim is for artists to help other artists, as well as create an outlet for those wanting to put culture out into the world.
Bring an open mind, your skills, and any supplies you’d like to use, be it a camera, a pencil, or a monologue.

Our #LifeDrawing is completely informal and casual in nature, whiich helps us welcome full-time artists as well as the new and curious — no talent or experience needed! Simply bring your art supplies, easels, books, or whatever you need to be creative. We’ll provide one semi-nude model and an atmosphere for inspiration and art to happen.
We’ll also have supplies available for purchase at a low cost, in the event you don’t have any.
